"Ephie" is a long, big bodied doe, which is no surprise coming from her dam, the tank-like Tigris. Ephie improves on her dam's production numbers and bulked up the mammery; and has consistantly kidded out with great bucks... but has been a little less helpful in the baby girl department!

Her sweet and easy going dispostion makes her a joy to work with, and we are love her persistant production in the face of cold weather.... she carries on our "Winter Goat" status! Storms and snow can only dent her resolve a little, she consistantly bounces right back un in production, keeping our refrigerator in milk throughout the winter time.

She has passed this on to her daughter Epiphany, and between the two of them we have milk year around, even in those tricky, bitter months. We love our Winter Goats!

As a 9 year old in 2020, she had a really ahrd kidding with a huge single doe which was already dead and didn't want to come out. After a prolonged fight with that, we feared we would lose her; but seculsion, rest, and giving her goat milk to drink brought her through. We didn't care that she didn't come in to milk, just so long as she lived... and after a few months of rebuilding her health, she spontaneously began insisting on coming into the milk parlor for grain, and producing about a half gallon daily for the rest of the year. This the pic of her udder (below) from that season.
